Roger Weston – Artist – Author – Poet
Originally from Auckland, I have lived and worked in many parts of our country!
In the past, a Teacher. Physical education, Art, Music; a Farmer; an Artist; Restaurateur; Landscaper and Interior designer.
Now settled in Dunedin, on the beautiful Otago Peninsula. What better place can there be, to follow one's dreams?
I began my Art as a student in the mid1960's, had my first successful solo exhibition in 1970, and since then, have continued to develop my art, and writing. Poetry, short stories.
The Poetry and short stories evolved into the Novels in 2004.
The first “The Backgammon Syndrome” being published in 2006. Since then two more. “The Domino Coincidence” and “Snakes and Ladders”, the sequel to my first novel. – A second sequel - a work in progress. Other works in progress, a new anthology of Poetry, a collection of short stories, and a “Historically” based Novel.
I have exhibited successfully in Auckland, Wellington, the Wairarapa, North Otago – and Dunedin.
I've been involved with Open Arts now for nearly five years, continuing my writing – and my Art, which I love.
Open Arts is a great group, of like minded, very talented, and personable artists! It is a privilege to be part of them.
