with panoramic harbour views.on the scenic Otago Peninsula.
Located halfway between Dunedin and
the Royal Albatross and Yellow-Eyed Penguin Colonies.
"Chy~an~Dowr" is situated in Broad Bay, just across the road from a small beach.
Originally built as a general store in approx. 1905 and rebuilt in 1925 to the existing house, it remained a general store until the 1970's.
In 1993 "Chy~an~Dowr" opened up as Boutique Accommodation
and since then we have welcomed many guests.

Our Canterbury suite is a luxury guest suite with harbour views
and consists of a bedroom with a King-size bed and an ensuite bathroom.
The bathroom is accessible from within the bedroom and has a shower,
washbasin and toilet. Bathrobes and a hairdryer are provided
The Canterbury suite has a TV, DVD, fridge and electric heaters.
The bed has an electric blanket, cotton sheets, a cotton and/or a feather duvet
and a is wool blanket available.
Chocolates, fresh fruit, tea/coffee making facilities.

 There is also a Sunroom upstairs at the front of the house with panoramic harbour views.
Wireless internet is available throughout the house or on our guest computer.
Enjoy a gourmet breakfast served at a time convenient to you.

The Otago Peninsula, well known for its Royal Albatross Colony, Yellow-eyed Penguins and seals,
has many walkways, secluded beaches and wonderful views.
Larnach Castle, the Marine Studies Aquarium and Glenfalloch Gardens are nearby, as are the many local arts and crafts studios.
There are several local cafes and restaurants on the Otago Peninsula.
Evening dining is available at Portobello a five minute drive from our house.

We are on the corner of Portobello Road and Clearwater Street in Broad Bay.
